The Energy Exchange (EE) program allows yoga students to work at the studio in exchange for unlimited classes. This is an initiative that enriches our community in countless ways. For EE participants, it’s free yoga, and a connection to the community with fun opportunities to participate in trade gatherings.
The inspiration for Kula’s Energy Exchange was drawn from the desire to foster a strong, welcoming and loving community of practice (kula) as well as a desire to explore alternative forms of currency. The exchange was initially launched at Kula Oakville, our sister studio, in 2003 and has been in existence at Kula Annex since it opened its doors in December 2008. The studio now has over 50 Energy Exchangers, or “Trades” – an amazing community of talented individuals who each bring their unique skills and personality to the Kula.
